DecaDots™ Ten-Frame Tiles System

Based on skip-counting by twos, DecaDots vertical ten-frame tiles provide a more intuitive and visual representation of patterns for numbers up to 10, than traditional ten-frame tiles. Students will quickly learn shortcuts such as counting the spaces remaining (counting back from 10) instead of counting the number of dots. The blue ten-tile emphasizes to students the importance of 10 in place value and allows students to more rapidly identify and create two-digit numbers.

Once students recognize these simple patterns, they can more easily master beginning addition and subtraction skills. Next, you can guide students to use the DecaDots Ten-Frame Tiles to find patterns concerning place value.
