ETA hand2mind™ Launches Core PD™
Professional development solution designed to help students achieve success through learning by doing
VERNON HILLS, Ill - July 16, 2012 — ETA hand2mind™, the leader in hands-on education materials for more than 40 years, has launched Core PD™, a professional development and teacher coaching solution that engages educators in discovery-based, hands-on learning.
ETA hand2mind (formerly known as ETA/Cuisenaire®) offers a unique approach to professional development grounded in classroom-tested strategies that help students achieve success through learning by doing.
The content-rich courses are teacher-focused and student-centered, and they produce immediate, measurable results in the classroom, according to Jude Rake, the company's president and CEO. Core PD helps teachers understand the individual learning needs of their students and supports development of actionable, easy-to-implement strategies for student growth, Rake added.
"Our Professional Development and Coaching staff understand the dynamics of teaching—how children learn and the realities of the school day," Rake said. "We know what it takes to inspire students to learn and to elevate performance. Core PD provides sustained coaching and professional development, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner to educators."
"We recognize that classroom schedules make it a challenge for teachers to dedicate quality time for professional development," Rake added. "We also know that professional development is most effective when delivered consistently over time."
To meet this challenge, Core PD offers flexible delivery options: online for self-directed learning, or on-site for group learning. A blended model, which can be tailored to the specific needs of individual schools, districts, and teachers is also available.
"Core PD helps educators understand what classroom success looks like when incorporating hands-on instruction into their daily routine," Rake said. "It's significant to note that our professional development programs are designed, validated, and delivered by master teachers and subject matter experts."
